At GARO Group, respect for human rights is a fundamental pillar of our commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices. Our Human Rights Policy is designed to ensure that every individual affected by our operations—whether employees, suppliers, customers, or communities—are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
We actively work to identify, prevent and mitigate any adverse human rights impacts across our business activities and the communities where we operate.
Our commitment to Human Rights
GARO Group's Human Rights Policy is aligned with key international frameworks, including:
- The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- The International Labor Organization’s (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
- The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
- OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
We strive to ensure that our operations, as well as those of our suppliers and business partners, reflect these standards and protect the rights of all individuals.
Key principles of our Human Rights Policy
- Community and stakeholder engagement: We are committed to making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate. This includes promoting fossil-free process energy within our operations and among our suppliers, as well as prioritizing worker health and well-being, while actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure their needs and perspectives are addressed.
- Employee rights: GARO Group ensures that all employees are respected, safe, and free from discrimination or harassment. Our strict adherence to anti-discrimination policies and our Code of Conduct ensures fair and equal treatment for all.
- Supply chain responsibility: We work closely with our Tier 1 suppliers and business partners to ensure that human rights are respected throughout our operations. We are expanding our efforts across the entire value chain, recognizing the complexities involved, particularly with electronic products, which require time and ongoing collaboration. Through open dialogue and conducting risk assessments based on EU sanctions and regulations like CSDDD, CSRD, and CBAM, we work to mitigate potential human rights violations. Regular follow-ups and continuous monitoring help us support inclusive, equitable workplaces and uphold our commitment to human rights.
- Customer privacy and non-discrimination: We respect the rights of our customers, including their right to privacy and protection from discrimination, while promoting responsible and diverse marketing practices.
Gender equality
We recognize gender equality as a human right and a core element of our business. GARO Group actively works to promote equal opportunities for both women and men, ensuring that all individuals have access to fair treatment and opportunities for growth.
Governance and accountability
Our Sustainability Committee conducts an annual review of this policy to ensure it remains aligned with evolving regulations, global best practices and our sustainability goals. In the event of any violation of this policy, appropriate action will be taken, including potential disciplinary measures.
